The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, announced this Friday that he is not resigning and will continue in his position despite the “pressure”, denouncing that “a social murder is being carried out” against him and is “trying to kill”, at the same time that he explained that the kiss to the player Jenni Hermoso was “spontaneous, mutual and consensual”.

“But do you think that this is to suffer the hunt that I am suffering? Do you honestly believe it? Is it so serious that I leave having done the best management in the history of Spanish football? Do you think that I have to resign Well, I’m going to tell you something, I’m not going to resign, I’m not going to resign,” Rubiales said emphatically during his speech at the Extraordinary Assembly in the Ciudad del FĂștbol de Las Rozas.

Rubiales thus reaffirmed his position, also denouncing “a lot of pressure” received in the last few hours. “They have told me that the best thing was for me to resign, because if not, someone will probably think of removing me from the forum on Monday, looking for the formula. But we are in a country where the law prevails, where there has to be a reason to be removed from a place”, he defended.

“What have I done? Is a spoiled beak to get me out of here? He knows me, he knows that I am going to fight until the end. I also hope that the law is complied with and, therefore, since there is nothing to commit such an act, it does not occur,” Rubiales assured bluntly.

“Even if something else is being sold, there is no desire and there is no position of dominance (in the kiss). Although something else is being sold in many of the media, both those that are dominated or selling homage to Mr. Thebes, as well as those that they are paying homage to false feminism, which is a great scourge in this country. It was a spontaneous, mutual, euphoric and consented kiss, that this is the key, this is the key to all criticism,” Rubiales explained during the Extraordinary General Assembly of the RFEF.
