The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, will attend next Monday the meeting of the General Commission of the Autonomous Communities called by the PP in the Senate on the autonomous content of the Amnesty law. He confirmed this himself in an interview in Ser Catalunya at the time that sources from the Presidency indicated that Aragonès would go
to defend the amnesty and the self-determination referendum that he proposes as a solution to the conflict between Catalonia and Spain.
“As an independentist, Catalan and left-wing, trolling the PP is always appealing,” the president commented in an interview in which he opined that the objective of the popular party is to organize “a coven against the Government of the Spanish State” as he already tried to do. in their previous call and which, in their opinion, the leader of the Government already managed to ruin them.
He has stated that he is not afraid to defend the amnesty against his detractors: “I am not afraid. I believe that the amnesty is necessary to end the repression that the Popular Party once very clearly encouraged,” Aragonès pointed out, and for this reason reason, he will go to the Upper House to defend the law against the ‘Go for them!’.
The president wants to defend “the need to resolve the political conflict”, as he already did in October, according to Presidency sources, who emphasize that his will is to “defend consultation everywhere and with whomever it is necessary.”
After presenting the proposal on Tuesday to be able to carry out the referendum, and given the relevance of the moment, the president considers it pertinent to explain again what he considers “the majority claim of the citizens of Catalonia” before the senators. And this makes him “aware of the use” of the Upper House by the PP, where he has the absolute majority.
Aragonès already appeared before the same chamber on October 19, before the inauguration of Pedro Sánchez, and in the presence of the presidents of the autonomous communities of the PP to defend the same issues and he already did so by accusing Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s party of instrumentalize both the Senate and Catalonia, as on previous occasions “in the battle between the state parties,” he noted in reference to the PSOE.
In this sense, he stressed that the PP is not interested in Catalonia or the well-being of Catalans: “The PP does not care what Catalonia thinks, to the point that they already assumed that they could talk about Catalonia without the representative of Catalonia,” he said. in reference to his presence in the Upper House.
