The Royal Spanish Football Federation has requested a two-year disqualification for the coach of Alhama CF of the First FutFem Federation, Juan Antonio ‘Randri’ García.
The statement from the Futpro union accuses Randri of “behaviors of humiliating and degrading treatment towards the majority of the players, affecting their dignity and creating a hostile work environment, and of repeated behavior in indiscriminate actions towards the players.”
The sanction is not only directed at the perpetrator of the events, the club’s technical director and Randri’s wife, Tamara Ruiz García, is accused of “passivity in the face of the coach’s inappropriate behavior and participation in inconsiderate actions towards the players, including the dissemination of an inappropriate image.”
The RFEF proposes to “sanction Tamara with a one-year disqualification from activities in the football sports organization for one year.”
As for the club, the RFEF, due to the “lack of preventive and reactive actions against the persistent behavior of the coach”, proposes a financial penalty of 6,001 euros to Alhama CF.
The Futpro sports union, mainly women’s football and the one that has brought together all the complaints from the different organizations, has been in charge of releasing the statement explaining the details of the decisions taken after the investigation.
On July 5 of this year, the Social Security Labor Inspection, ITSS, stated that coach Randri García had “inappropriate behavior” that affected “the dignity of the majority of the players” of Alhama. This behavior resulted in “a hostile environment” in the locker room, according to ITSS reports.
In the same statement, Futpro wanted to roundly condemn the events. “From our association we strongly condemn that events like these continue to occur and we applaud the response of the RFEF which joins the already existing one also by the ITSS, thus demonstrating a firm and fair attitude. This procedure underlines the importance of our work as a union in the protection of the rights and dignity of female footballers”.
