YouTube Premium subscribers can now test the new desktop redesign and provide feedback
YouTube has been testing a new desktop design that has received negative feedback from users. Now, YouTube Premium subscribers have the opportunity to test the redesign themselves. Subscribers can opt into the new “Redesigned Watch Page” through YouTube Premium’s experimental features page.
The redesign, which first appeared in April and was met with immediate criticism, was initially reverted but started rolling out again in late May. YouTube Premium subscribers can now enable the redesign, with a prompt appearing on the YouTube homepage for feedback.
Feedback from users testing the redesign has been largely negative, with YouTube touting an “improved viewing experience” that makes it easier to find related content and enhances access to comments. Once enabled, a feedback button with a 9-question form is available.
The experiment is set to run through July 1, replacing the “Jump ahead” feature that was tested until June 1. The AI-generated “Ask questions” experiment is also ongoing.
