Japanese creative Hideo Kojima has returned to the stage at The Game Awards to announce a new horror game exclusive to Xbox and PC. It’s called OD and, although we already have a first trailer, it’s a little difficult to know what it will be like or what it will be about. What is clear from this minute and a half video is that the cast of actors is one of the good ones.
To start, we have Sophia Lillis, who has had starring roles in the two most recent IT movies and the Dungeons and Dragons movie. On the other hand, there is Hunter Schafer, who we have seen in the HBO series Euphoria. And finally, we have the German actor Udo Kier, who appears in films like My Neighbor Adolf or Swan Song.
We already know that Hideo Kojima loves to surround himself with good actors, but for the development of OD he also has the collaboration of another big name in Hollywood: horror film director Jordan Peele, responsible for films like Let Me Out, Us and Nope .
The trailer shows the faces of Sophia Lillis and Udo Kier against a black background while they sing some kind of nursery rhyme. That’s it, this is all. During the minute and a half of the video, the situation degenerates and fear begins to creep into their faces while the melody begins to tremble. And it all ends with a scream.
OD will work with the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine and takes advantage of Metahuman technologies to generate hyper-realistic humans, both in detail and texture as well as in animations and movements. Until now, we had only seen the combination of Unreal Engine 5 and Metahuman at full capacity in The Matrix Awakens technical demo.
We do not know when OD will arrive exclusively on Xbox and PC, although Hideo Kojima seems to have work piling up, since he also has Death Stranding 2 in development.
