The new installment of Zelda monopolizes all the protagonist among the video game releases of this month of May, but there is also space for those brave who are not afraid to go on sale a few days after the expected Nintendo game. This is the case of After Us, the new and ambitious project from Barcelona’s Piccolo Studios; or Humanity, the new and experimental game from the creators of Tetris Effect.

The new from Arkane Studios – specifically from its team located in Austin (United States) – is a first-person action game set in a Massachusetts devastated by vampires. The talented team behind Dishonored and Prey present a game that can be played solo or cooperatively with up to three friends. Redfall is available on Game Pass from its launch day.

The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the most anticipated games of 2023 and even in the recent history of the interactive medium. After six years in development, Link’s ambitious new adventure promises a large dose of creativity thanks to a series of new mechanics that promise to change the gameplay. We have already had the opportunity to play it and, for now, it has exceeded all our expectations.

The Japanese designer Yugo Nakamura is behind this singular puzzle in which, in the skin of a Japanese shiba inu dog, we must guide masses of people towards the light. There is no doubt that Humanity is the most unique release of this month of May and it has numbers to be so for the entire year as well. Seeing it in motion is hypnotic and much of the blame lies with the Japanese developer Enhance, responsible for two aesthetic milestones such as Tetris Effect or REZ Infinite.

Presented during the last ceremony of The Game Awards, the new game from the Barcelona team Piccolo Studio is an evocative adventure set at the end of the world. The creators of the acclaimed Arise: A Simple Story face a much more ambitious production that promises to offer large settings full of detail that can be freely explored. In the skin of Gaia, a spirit that must restore life on Earth, the player must revive the souls of all the animals that populated the planet before its destruction.

The much-used setting of a post-apocalyptic United States serves as the setting for this adventure developed by the Swedish studio The Bearded Ladies (Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden). Now, far from being the classic third-person action game, Miasma Chronibles seeks to differentiate itself thanks to its turn-based tactical action system and its particular main duo, a young man named Elvis and his robot “brother” Diggs.

The German studio Daedalic Entertainment is behind this new game based on the universe of The Lord of the Rings and starring one of its most iconic characters: Gollum. The Hamburg-based team leaves aside the graphic adventure genre, in which they have excelled with the Deponia game series, to delve into a more ambitious project within the action-adventure genre.

Three decades after System Shock revolutionized first-person shooter games with an immersive blend of sci-fi and horror, Looking Glass Studios’ classic returns in a remake. Since it was announced in 2016, the development of the game by Nightdive Studios has been a real obstacle course, however, it seems that it will finally come to fruition with the release of this update.
