A swimmer has been missing in deep waters off Miami Beach for over 24 hours, leading to a large-scale search by rescue teams. The incident occurred at 100 South Point Drive near the jetty around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, with 911 calls reporting two distressed swimmers shortly after.

Witness Marcus Pearson, who works in the area, described a group of people struggling in the water and one man collapsing from exhaustion upon reaching the shore. The search efforts involved Coast Guard helicopters, Miami Beach Police, and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units scouring the beach and ocean for the missing individual.

Despite extensive search efforts on Saturday and Sunday, the swimmer has not been located. Pearson highlighted the challenging water conditions, including rip currents in the area, which have led to multiple water rescues in recent days.

Miami Beach Police have classified the case as an active missing persons investigation and are urging anyone with information to contact the department’s non-emergency number. The search continues as authorities work to locate the missing swimmer and provide closure to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic incident.
