A recent Russian drone strike in Kyiv resulted in the tragic death of a 15-year-old girl and left five others injured. The attack occurred during a nighttime barrage on the Ukrainian capital that lasted for hours. The drone hit a 25-story apartment block in the city’s west, causing significant damage to several apartments on the upper floors.

In addition to the incident in Kyiv, a missile attack on central Ukraine claimed the lives of five people, including a 14-year-old, and injured at least 21 others. The attack targeted a residential area in the city of Dnipro, damaging over a dozen buildings and a medical facility. Among the casualties were the wife and teenage daughter of a local policeman, who were tragically pulled dead from the rubble.

Furthermore, there were reports of casualties in other regions of Ukraine, including the southern Kherson region and the northeastern Kharkiv province. In total, Russian forces launched 91 drones and seven missiles at Ukrainian territory, with Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepting and downing a significant number of drones.

Meanwhile, Russia claimed to have brought down 17 Ukrainian drones near the border in four regions. Moscow’s troops also continued to make gains in Ukraine’s industrial east, capturing the hamlet of Oleksandropil in the Donetsk region. Despite these advances, Russia has faced challenges in pushing Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk border region following an incursion nearly three months ago.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has resulted in a devastating toll on civilian lives and infrastructure, with both sides engaged in fierce fighting across various regions. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, calling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict to prevent further loss of life and destruction.
