Netflix to End Support for Older Apple TVs: How to Keep Watching
Netflix has recently announced that it will no longer support certain older models of Apple TVs. The email stated that support for these devices will end on July 31, 2024, in order to ensure the best viewing experience for users.
The Apple TV (2nd generation) was launched in 2010 with a 720p resolution, while the 3rd generation, released in 2012, supports 1080p resolution. These models did not come with tvOS or tvOS apps and instead had pre-installed apps.
For users with these older Apple TV models, it will be necessary to upgrade to a newer Apple TV or switch to a compatible smart TV in order to continue streaming content on Netflix after July 31. There are various smart TV options available from brands like Samsung, TCL, LG, Sony, Vizio, Hisense, and more.
