The Comic Con that is being held this weekend in San Diego (California) has been the setting chosen by Insomniac Games to present a new trailer for the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which will go on sale for PlayStation 5 on October 20.
The video, which can be seen below, offers previously unpublished images of the game’s cinematics, but the main protagonist is Venom, the alien symbiote so revered by comic book enthusiasts whose presence will be one of the great novelties of this third installment of the Marvel’s Spider-Man saga.
The game’s story will take place shortly after Peter Parker and Miles Morales saved New York in the previous adventure, and will feature allowing the player to take control of the two superheroes. In addition to standing up to Venom, this time they will also have to face iconic villains such as the Lizard or the hunter Kraven, who also has a prominent presence in this latest trailer.
Coinciding with the release of the new trailer, Sony has unveiled a special edition PlayStation 5 with custom skins and a controller inspired by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It will be available starting September 1 and will also include a game code (though it won’t be redeemable until October 20).
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the great launch of PlayStation for the second half of 2023. The two previous installments have sold more than 30 million units and are among the most successful games, both commercially and critically, that Sony has at the moment.
