A 13-year-old girl in Lauderhill had a scary encounter with a stranger after getting off her school bus. Kymorah Reid shared her story with 7News, saying that a man tried to grab her while she was walking home. The incident was captured on surveillance video on Northwest 18th Court.

Reid explained that she heard someone behind her as she was walking home and felt someone grab her foot. She fought back by kicking and screaming, which caught the attention of a neighbor who scared the man away. The man then ran towards a waiting vehicle.

Reid’s mother, Lois Kerr, was shocked when she saw the footage from a neighbor’s camera. Reid’s grandmother, Barbara Burke, wants parents to be aware of what can happen and advised children to be cautious.

The suspect, described as a tall man with a light complexion wearing dark shorts and a yellow shirt, is still at large. Lauderhill Police are investigating the incident and urge anyone with information to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers.

Reid has a message for kids her age – to be careful and pay attention to their surroundings. She emphasized the importance of being vigilant as you never know when someone might try to harm you.

The community is on high alert following this incident, and residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity. Remember, safety should always come first, and it’s essential to stay cautious when walking alone.
