The victim, identified as Gary S. Caldwell, was driving a 1973 Triumph TR6 eastbound on Highway 94 when he failed to navigate a curve at Dress Island and was driving at an excessive speed. As a result, Caldwell lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer off the highway and overturn.
Sadly, Caldwell was pronounced dead shortly before 8:15 p.m. at the scene of the crash. It was noted in the crash report that he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
