The report states that Musk arrived in Palo Alto, California in 1995 for a graduate program at Stanford University but never actually enrolled in any courses. Instead, he started working on his startup. Musk responded to Biden’s comments on social media, claiming that he was allowed to work in the US and calling Biden a liar.
Investors in Musk’s company, Zip2, were reportedly worried about the possibility of Musk being deported and gave him a deadline to obtain a work visa. Musk acknowledged in a 2005 email to his Tesla co-founders that he did not have authorization to be in the US when he started Zip2. The email was submitted as evidence in a defamation lawsuit.
Despite these allegations, Musk is now the wealthiest man in the world. He has been a major donor to Republican candidates, including supporting Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Trump has even suggested that he would give Musk a role in his administration if he wins the election.
