An animal rescue organization from Lauderhill, Florida, recently embarked on a mission to provide much-needed supplies to animal shelters in North Carolina that were affected by Hurricane Helene. The shelters in North Carolina were facing dire circumstances, with no electricity, power, or refrigeration for vaccines.

Saving Sage Animal Rescue, along with other rescue groups, loaded up vans with food, medical supplies, empty crates, and cat litter to bring to the devastated shelters in North Carolina. They also planned to bring back some of the animals to Broward County to alleviate the burden on the shelters as they work to recover from the hurricane’s aftermath.

Volunteers like Yelena Gayko joined the mission to ensure that the supplies reached the shelters and that the animals were transported safely back to South Florida. Gayko emphasized the importance of helping animals in need, especially in situations where they are helpless and unable to help themselves.

The volunteers faced a long and challenging journey ahead, but they were determined to make a difference for the animals in North Carolina. Despite the difficult circumstances, the volunteers were committed to picking up the pieces and providing assistance to the animals in need.

The efforts of Saving Sage Animal Rescue and other volunteer groups highlight the importance of coming together to support animals in times of crisis. By providing essential supplies and transporting animals to safety, the volunteers were able to make a significant impact on the shelters in North Carolina.
