New Acer Swift 14 AI Copilot+ PC Review: A Unique Experience

Acer Swift 14 AI is leading the AI PC revolution with its Copilot+ branding, featuring Snapdragon X Elite/Plus SoC and innovative on-device AI experiences like Recall and Cocreator. At the recent Computex 2024 event, I had the opportunity to test out the Acer Swift 14 AI, the first Copilot+ PC set to launch on June 18.

Initially, the laptop appeared similar to a traditional Windows PC, with minor differences like a new logo on the trackpad and a Snapdragon X Elite sticker. While it wasn’t remarkably lighter or thinner than other laptops in its class, the Acer Swift 14 AI felt distinct, offering a unique user experience compared to x86-based Windows PCs.

The software interface on the Acer Swift 14 AI was smooth and responsive, thanks to its 2.5K high-resolution display with touch support. The device also boasts a generative AI-powered Recall function, allowing users to revisit past tasks seamlessly. Additionally, the Paint Cocreator feature can transform sketches into images in real-time, enhancing creative capabilities.

Despite concerns about privacy and data access with these AI features, Microsoft ensures user data protection and the option to disable such functions. The Acer Swift 14 AI will soon be available with Intel Lunar Lake or AMD Ryzen AI 300 series chips, offering users more choices in terms of performance and functionality.

Overall, the Acer Swift 14 AI Copilot+ PC combines the best of Windows and Mac experiences, promising superior performance and battery life compared to traditional PCs and MacBooks. While my time with the device was limited, it showcased the potential of Copilot+ PCs in redefining the future of computing.
