Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Miami, with one person in critical condition. The incident took place at Northwest 12th Avenue and 62nd Street, and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist.
City of Miami Police and Fire Rescue units worked together to help the victims, with one person trapped inside a vehicle. Aerial footage captured the aftermath of the crash, showing a knocked-down light pole and heavily damaged vehicles.
The Miami Technical Rescue Team played a crucial role in extricating the trapped driver, who was then taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. Another individual was also transported to the same hospital in serious condition, while the remaining three were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
In addition to the injuries sustained, the crash resulted in a water main break in the area. Crews from the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department were called in to address the issue promptly.
As authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, certain roads in the area have been closed off to traffic. Northwest 11th to 13th avenues and 61st to 63rd streets are currently inaccessible as the investigation unfolds.
