Spain and Italy meet this Thursday in the second semifinal of the Nations League. The selection will seek its pass to the final with a completely renewed team. In Luis de la Fuente’s list, only nine players of the 27 who qualified the team for the final phase of the tournament repeat, the second that they have played in the three editions of the recently created tournament.

Among so much novelty, the coach’s eleven is unknown, although he did anticipate that he would “always” opt for a pure nine and not a false nine. With the presence of players like Álvaro Morata, Rodrigo Moreno or Joselu Mato, he has different profiles for the forward position.

He is not clear about the goalkeeper either, given the “very high” level of the three summoned. “The three goalkeepers are fantastic, let’s naturalize the decisions and the goalkeeping debate because the goalkeeper does not have to be different from the rest. There will be games that one has to play and in others it will be another due to characteristics. Knowing that the three goalkeepers are exceptional” , he claimed.

All the spotlights are on the coach, who aspires to win his first title with Spain and who lives oblivious to the rumors about his position: “We only think about the opportunity to reach a final. There is no day after, I see it as if “It was my last game. From now and forever. To think that it is the last opportunity of your life. It is the last game and it may be tomorrow. We face it as if our lives were going tomorrow”.

The penultimate obstacle for Spain will be Italy, which recognized that it will have to suffer to win. “Against Spain we will have to be careful, compact and capable of recovering. We will have to suffer, but we are a strong team and we have to prove it,” declared their coach Fratessi.

If they win against Italy, the team will face Croatia, which is already waiting in the Nations League final, after coming back from behind against the host, the Netherlands, in the second half and finishing off their feat in extra time that brings them closer to the first title in its history (2-4).

The second semifinal of the Nations League between Spain and Italy will be played this Thursday, June 15 at 8:45 p.m. The match can be seen on television on La 1 on RTVE and live on the La Vanguardia website.
