Robert Horry is but one of two players that have won at least seven NBA championships and isn’t in the Basketball Hall of Fame and on Saturday he got a huge show of support from a former trainer.
Rudy Tomjanovich was inducted to the Hall of Fame over the weekend and throughout his enshrinement speech that he vouched for Horry — that won two rings as part of their Houston Rockets.
“I Wish to talk up for Robert Horry to be inducted to the Hall of Fame,” Tomjanovich said, through AL.com. “He’s quite a legendary player. He made a lot of clutch shots. He has seven rings to prove it. That is where he goes”
Horry won seven rings throughout his NBA career. Together with the 2 names won in Houston, he’s three championships with an Los Angeles Lakers and 2 together with an San Antonio Spurs.
The stats don’t line up with players that were inducted to the Hall of Fame. He’d leave a mark on the match by hitting a number of the greatest shots at the greatest minutes, making him the nickname”Big Shot Bob.”
Horry reacted to Tomjanovich’s opinions on Twitter.
“I’m humbled and honored which Coach Rudy T could take an instant through his induction speech to comprehend my livelihood. Thank you Coach Rudy T, and sincere congratulations to you to get a pleasant HOF induction,” he wrote.
