Real Madrid and Girona will compete this Saturday for the leadership of LaLiga EA Sports, in a match that is expected to fill the Santiago Bernabéu. Only two points separate both teams: 58 for the whites, compared to 56 for the Catalan team, the big surprise of this season.
Míchel Sánchez’s team is clinging to several victories against Real Madrid, such as the 1-2 win in 2019 at the Santiago Bernabéu or the 4-2 win last April. In fact, they have won three of the seven previous duels between both clubs in the domestic competition. If they get the three points, they would emerge as leaders of the white temple.
However, the Catalan team will miss Daley Blind and Yangel Herrera. Also to coach Míchel Sánchez, as the appeal presented by the club was not successful. The coach was sent off in the 88th minute of the home game against Real Sociedad.
For its part, Real Madrid has just drawn in the derby against Atlético de Madrid (1-1). All eyes are on the German Antonio Rüdiger and the Brazilian Vinícius Junior, who suffered various injuries in the last match. His evolution will mark his availability in the duel for leadership.
The match between Real Madrid and Girona, corresponding to the twenty-fourth matchday of LaLiga EA Sports, will be played this Saturday, February 10, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting can be seen on television on DAZN and can also be followed live through the La Vanguardia website.
