Canadian rapper and sports enthusiast Drake has been facing some tough luck recently with his sports bets. He recently bet $500,000 on the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup, but unfortunately, they lost to the Florida Panthers in Game 7. If the Oilers had won, Drake would have won $1.25 million.
This isn’t the only bet that Drake has lost recently. He also placed a $500,000 bet on the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA Finals, but they were defeated by the Boston Celtics. If the Mavericks had won, Drake would have won $1.375 million.
These losses have added to the reputation of the “Drake Curse,” a phenomenon where teams or athletes suffer losses after Drake publicly supports them or places bets on them. This curse has been joked about for years, and Drake himself seems to be aware of it.
In addition to these recent losses, Drake also lost a bet on a boxing match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. Fury was unable to defeat Usyk in the match, causing Drake to lose out on that bet as well.
Despite these setbacks, Drake remains a dedicated sports fan and continues to support his favorite teams. Whether or not the “Drake Curse” is real, Drake’s sports bets have certainly garnered attention in the sports world.
