Castellón managed to qualify this Sunday for the final for promotion to LaLiga Smartbank, in which they will face Alcorcón, by beating Deportivo de La Coruña 4-3 in Castalia in a fast-paced match that required extra time to decide the tie.

After the 1-0 victory harvested a week ago at Riazor by the Galician team, a goal from Castellón in the 90th minute put the score at 3-2 and took the game to an extra time that Depor played with one player less for the expulsion of their goalkeeper Ian Mackay.

The Galician team managed to tie at three, but could not withstand the push from the Castellón team, who won the game with a goal from David Cubillas.

Castellón got ahead on the scoreboard with a 2-0 scoreline thanks to goals from Miguel and Yeremy de León that qualified them for the final, but Deportivo closed the gap before the break with a goal from Yeremay Hernández.

In the second half, a penalty goal in the 59th minute by Lucas Pérez tied the game and momentarily put Depor in the final.

When it seemed that the team from A Coruña would qualify, a goal from the Indies in the 90th minute put the locals ahead again and took the game to extra time. In addition, Depor was left with a man less in the final stretch due to the expulsion with a direct red card of their goalkeeper Ian Mackay for assault.

Despite the emotional blow caused by the goal in the 90th minute and the sending off, Depor returned to balance the duel (3-3) with a header from Kuki Zalazar in the 98th minute, but Castellón responded in the second half of extra time with a goal from David Cubillas from a corner at minute 108.
