Manhattan Stakes Showcases G1 Talent with Brown and Appleby Stars
Once again, the Manhattan Stakes (G1T) is set to dazzle fans with a star-studded lineup of contenders, including five grade/group 1 winners, in the upcoming $1 million, 1 3/16-mile race at Saratoga Race Course on June 8. The field features top-notch horses from the stables of renowned trainers Chad Brown and Charlie Appleby.
Chad Brown, who boasts an impressive record of eight Manhattan wins, will be represented by the talented Program Trading, a three-time grade 1 winner. The 4-year-old son of Lope de Vega is coming off back-to-back victories in the Turf Classic Stakes (G1T) and the Hollywood Derby (G1T) and is the morning-line favorite for this year’s Manhattan Stakes.
On the other hand, Charlie Appleby, known for his success as Godolphin’s head trainer, will saddle Nations Pride, a multiple grade 1 winner with a successful history in New York. Nations Pride will be joined by stablemate Measured Time, making his U.S. debut after a strong performance in Dubai.
