Barça has announced, through an official statement, that Alejandro Balde has undergone satisfactory surgery for the injury to the hamstring tendon in his right thigh. An operation that was carried out in a clinic in Turku (Finland) by Dr. Lasse Lempainen and under the supervision of the Catalan club’s medical services.

In the statement, the Barça club comments that Balde is out, without specifying the period of time she will be off the pitch: “Her evolution will determine her availability.”

Xavi’s current injury history dates back to November 17, when Ter Stegen retired from the playing field. The German goalkeeper also underwent a successful intervention to solve his lower back problems. It is estimated that he will return to the field at the beginning of February, perhaps against Alavés or Granada.

Apart from Balde and Ter Stegen, Barça currently has six injured players: Gavi, Marcos Alonso, Raphinha and Íñigo Martínez. This season, Balde has played a total of 28 games, divided into 18 in the League, 6 in the Champions League, 2 in the Copa del Rey and 2 in the Spanish Super Cup. He has scored a goal and made an assist.
