A new Atlantic front will penetrate this Wednesday from the northwest of the Peninsula, leaving cloudy or overcast skies in Galicia and the western Cantabrian Sea, with rainfall, which in the west of Galicia may be locally strong or persistent, according to the forecast of the State Agency of Meteorology (Aemet).

The rainfall will not affect the rest of the country. According to the agency, in the rest of the Atlantic and northeastern peninsular slopes, cloudy skies or with cloudy intervals are expected, without ruling out some light rain, while in the Mediterranean area slightly cloudy skies or with some cloudy intervals, but without precipitation, will be recorded.

The wind will blow strongly in the Cantabrian Sea. Very strong gusts of wind are expected in Lugo, western Asturias and also the mountains of the southeast of the peninsula. In fact, Aemet has activated the yellow notice in Galicia, Asturias and Andalusia.

For this Wednesday, the agency predicts a general rise in temperatures, except for the minimum temperatures in the eastern peninsula and the Balearic Islands, and the maximum temperatures in the Balearic Islands, which will remain unchanged or with some occasional decrease. Weak frosts will occur in the Pyrenees.

In Girona, Almería, Barcelona and Tarragona they will reach a maximum of 25 degrees. It will be even hotter in Murcia, Alicante, Castellón or Valencia, where this Wednesday they will touch 28 degrees.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the agency predicts that a circulation of winds will continue that would lead to the arrival of Atlantic fronts, with rainfall especially in the northwest of the peninsula, the Cantabrian Sea and the Pyrenees, without affecting the Mediterranean side of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands. .

Temperatures will drop across the board on Friday, but will tend to recover throughout the weekend, Aemet anticipates.
