The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) draws two very different scenarios for the remainder of the week: high temperatures for the season in the center and south of the peninsula and the Canary Islands; On the other hand, lower values ??than normal in the northern third and the Balearic Islands. This forecast translates into more than 30 degrees in the south and frost in mountain areas and points on the northern plateau, expected for Friday.
This Wednesday temperatures will drop in most of the country, notably in the maximum temperatures in the southeast of the peninsula, Malaga and Mallorca. They will not exceed a maximum of 15 degrees in many northern provinces, such as Burgos, Santander or Logroño. In addition, weak frosts are expected in the mountains of the northern peninsula.
Meanwhile, in the extreme north and in interior areas of the southern third there will be no major changes. Thus, the highest values ??that will be recorded throughout the country will be 31 degrees in Córdoba, 30 in Granada and 28 in Badajoz and Jaén.
That will be the trend that will continue until the end of the week, according to the agency in a publication by X (formerly Twitter).
For today, Aemet predicts cloudy or overcast skies in the extreme north of the peninsula and precipitation in the eastern Cantabrian area and the Pyrenees. These rains will be less likely and will be more dispersed in the rest of the Cantabrian Sea, northeastern Galicia, upper Ebro and northern Iberia, which in general will tend to decrease throughout the day.
The agency expects a thunderstorm on the Ebro with intervals of strong and very strong gusts in its lower course, west rolling to east in the Strait and Alborán, and a predominance of winds from the north and northeast in the rest of the Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands.
Also, they will reach strong winds with very strong gusts in Ampurdán, the north of the Balearic Islands and the coasts of Galicia, which will tend to roll to the east in Mediterranean areas and to the southwest in the southwestern extreme of the peninsula.
The predicted force has forced Aemet to activate the yellow warning for winds and waves in parts of the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Galicia and the Valencian Community.
