The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced the arrival of a new storm named “Mónica”, which threatens to transform the weather in Spain with heavy rain, intense snowfall in mountain areas, vigorous gusts of wind and a notable storm. maritime.
This storm, caused by a deep and extensive low pressure system, will continue to generate cloudy skies and rainfall in much of the Spanish territory, although they will be less frequent and heavy than in previous days.
With the advance of Mónica through the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, a cold front will make its entry, followed by lines of instability that will trigger scattered showers in large areas. These phenomena are expected to occur during the next few hours, with widespread showers projected by the AEMET. The most affected regions will be Galicia, the Pyrenees and some areas of southern Andalusia, where especially intense rainfall is expected.
In addition, Aemet has warned of the presence of strong winds with southern and western components in much of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.
