After the passage of Storm Bernand, the first impact storm of the season, a carousel of fronts arrives that will leave unstable weather and rain in much of Spain. The influence of two fronts will bring locally heavy rainfall this Tuesday to the Balearic Islands and the coasts of Catalonia and locally persistent rainfall to the west of Galicia, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

These precipitations will be accompanied by storms in the Balearic Islands and the coasts of Catalonia, without ruling out that they could be locally strong. On the other hand, a new front will penetrate from Galicia, leaving rain on the Atlantic slope of the peninsula, more abundant in the west of Galicia, where it could also be locally persistent.

The snow level will be around 1,700 meters, rising to 2,000/2,300 meters in the Cantabrian mountain range, and 2,000/2,400 meters in the rest of the peninsula.

Temperatures will continue to drop. According to the Aemet forecast, they will decrease practically across the board, especially in the eastern peninsula and the Balearic Islands, and except for Galicia and Asturias, where daytime temperatures will increase. In the Canary Islands with few changes.

Regarding the wind, it will blow moderately from the west and southwest in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with strong intervals on the coast of Galicia, the Cantabrian Sea, the extreme southeast of the peninsula, the Levant and the Balearic Islands.

The week will be marked by instability. “As for the next few days, the flow of Atlantic winds from the west will predominate with the passage of fronts that will mainly affect the northwest of the peninsula. The rains will, therefore, be less heavy in general than in past days, except in Galicia and the Cantabrian communities,” anticipates Aemet spokesperson Rubén del Campo.

According to the person in charge, temperatures will fluctuate as the fronts pass: “In general, they will be typical of this time of year in most of the country.”
