The summer weather and clear skies will continue to rule this Wednesday in practically all of Spain, except for isolated storms. After several days of skyrocketing thermometers and a heat wave that begins to subside in certain points, especially in the Canary Islands, although in Andalusia and the Balearic Islands it is expected that the thermometers will continue to rise.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) warns of significantly high temperatures even in other points such as the center and northeast of the peninsula and with clear skies in a large part of the country, with some possible high clouds.

However, the great novelty that the Aemet warns for this Wednesday are the storms that will arrive in the next few hours in Aragon and the northeast of the peninsula and that can also occur in the north of Galicia and in the Cantabrian area, where greater cloudiness and perhaps some light and scattered rain.

These storms could even bring hail in mountain areas, although the heaviest rainfall will arrive in the afternoon, preferably in the northern third, in areas of the Ebro depression and in eastern Teruel, including strong or very strong gusts in storm areas.

The situation could be repeated in Catalonia, where in the Pyrenees in the afternoon, there will be a probability of occasional showers with a storm, preferably in the western sector. However, there will be a light wind from the east and southeast, with some moderate intervals on the coast.

As for the general cloudiness throughout the country, the Aemet forecasts intervals of morning low clouds in neighboring areas to the south, as well as in the Strait, Alborán coastlines and areas of the Levant. The northeast of the peninsula and the interior of the rest of the eastern third and northern plateau will have intervals of clouds in the afternoon.

In some points of the Canary archipelago high temperatures will still be reached, especially in points in the interior south and west of Gran Canaria. There the Aemet expects that 34 ºC will still be exceeded and the haze will remain in a not so generalized way in some points of the islands.

Particularly in the area of ??the Strait of Gibraltar, the maximum will rise remarkably, where in turn the wind will increase from midday to the western component on the Atlantic slope.

In general, the Aemet forecast remains with the same parameters without changes this week from August 14 to 20, with high temperatures above normal throughout the country and little rain, except in points in the northwest of the peninsula. , except for very isolated strong storms.
