A new storm originated with the remains of the DANA that recently hit large areas of Spain and Hurricane Franklin will leave rain from this Thursday and at least this Sunday, especially in the northwest quadrant of the peninsula, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency ( Aemet).

“It is a merger of these two systems that have become a classic Atlantic storm and currently does not present any tropical characteristics,” explains the agency’s spokesman, Rubén del Campo. “It’s curious,” he sums up.

For this Thursday, an approximation of it to the northwest of the Peninsula is expected. In these areas, medium-high cloudiness and evolution clouds are forecast, with possible showers and storms in the northwest third, more likely in Galicia, Asturias and the north of the Meseta. Although in general they will tend to subside in the last hours, they could continue in areas of the northern plateau. Nor are more showers and storms ruled out at the end in western Galicia.

According to the Aemet forecast, there will be cloudy intervals in the rest of the Mediterranean area with the possibility of some light rain on the southeast coasts and, more likely, in the Strait area.

Temperatures will tend to rise. The minimums will increase in the western half of the peninsula and there will be no major changes in the rest, which will continue to be high for the time of year in the Bay of Biscay. There will be 35 degrees in Bilbao, 34 in Córdoba and 32 in Jaén, Lleida, Murcia, Seville and Zaragoza. On the other hand, it will soften more in Ávila (25) and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and León (26).

The winds will blow from the eastern component in the eastern peninsular third and the Mediterranean area, from the south in Galicia and, in central hours, from the southern component on the entire Atlantic slope. Variable looseness in the rest.
