Soraya Arnelas has been on stage for almost two decades. A more than considerable milestone for someone who, when he appeared at Operación Triunfo 18 years ago, didn’t even know how to hold a microphone because he made a living near the clouds, but not as an inspiration to make his dreams come true, but because she worked as a flight attendant.

The extreme woman, who is now 40 years old, was one of the surprises of the edition, and presented herself to the world as a self-confident woman who stepped on the stage with force. This is Soraya the artist, who was sponsored by Narcís Rebollo and Ricardo Campoy when she left the competition, and who decided to let herself be carried away at the beginning of her career, not without showing traits of a woman’s character that he already knew what he wanted.

The most personal Soraya is the one who attends La Vanguardia to talk about a special 2023, both for the personal and professional aspects. The artist is the mother of two girls, Manuela (6) and Olivia (1), and in July she will marry her partner, Miguel Ángel Herrera, after 11 years of relationship.

Fate wanted them to meet in the same city where their artistic dream began: Barcelona. Their first contact was on a television set in the Catalan capital and they have built a beautiful love story that will live one of the most intense chapters with the wedding celebration.

It’s already four months into 2023 and the singer has released a new single, announced a tour and is awaiting her wedding. Stress? “The truth is, no, because I have a wedding planner, who, moreover, is one of my best friends and knows me very well. I dedicate myself exclusively to dresses, wedding rings and topics related to make-up and hairdressing, and these are things that I like and find fun”, says the singer.

Soraya has no qualms about giving details of a ceremony that will be a civil wedding in the town hall of the town on the outskirts of Madrid where she lives, intimate, nocturnal, and in which she will wear two dresses. She is leaving her hair long, as she wants to wear it in a bun with the first, to then leave it wet in the final stretch of a celebration to which Chenoa, one of her great friends and supporters, will be attending.

Your wish? “To go quite far, through Asia, and if possible, without the girls”, explains the extreme woman with amusement.

Soraya makes visible the difficulty of balancing her career with two young daughters, and admits that the fact that her partner, who is a model and now works in marketing, can work remotely is a major relief for them. However, whenever she can, her family goes with her to events or concerts. “I am proud that the press also pays attention to my personal side and focuses on how I educate my daughters or reflections that have to do with society. I am a public figure, but I have chosen it”, he said.

The singer from Extremadura presents her latest single, La cita, a song dedicated to the people who care for those who are having a bad time and “a touch of attention for social relationships”. Her eldest daughter participated in the clip for the theme: “She’s been doing ballet for three years and on the day of the shoot we set up an area for her to play, and that’s how we recorded her,” she explains.

And he reveals an anecdote: “My daughter often asks me when I will give up singing and become a doctor, so that I can spend more time at home. For her it is an extracurricular activity and she is still not aware of many things, although she had a bad time after the pandemic when I was leaving because we had spent a lot of time together.” She is Soraya the mother, who also designs tour clothes, continues to survive in the music industry, without a record label and with her own label, and celebrates life. With his songs and, this year, also with his wedding.
