Alexia Putellas has been one of the biggest icons of women’s football for years. Winner of the Ballon d’Or on two occasions (2021 and 2022), the captain of FC Barcelona has become the benchmark that inspires new generations of boys and girls around the world.

Born in the mid-1990s in a generation when being a professional footballer was not even a dream, now that she is one of the best footballers in the world she uses her image to empower all the girls who today aspire to follow in her footsteps. In 2022 he presented his documentary, Alexia, Labor Omnia Vincit, in which he showed his most personal facet, and now he takes a step further by presenting his own foundation.

She has always been committed to the fight for gender equality in sport and yesterday she took another step by presenting Eleven, the foundation with which she wants to help improve the lives of more than 300 girls around the world who are in a vulnerable situation .

At Casa Seat, Alexia explained how the idea of ​​creating this organization came about: “It started at my worst professional and personal moment, when I broke my knee. I found myself in a situation where I didn’t know how to manage these emotions and when I got my head in order I started to give shape to this project that had always been around me”.

A project that will start in Mollet with a hundred girls and that will then spread to Latin America, and of which it is considered just one vehicle. “The protagonists are these girls in situations that, thanks to the family and the stability I have had, I have not had to suffer”.

Alexia Putellas ends her contract with FC Barcelona on June 30 and it has not yet been made official if she will renew.
