The mayor of Badalona (Barcelonès Nord), Rubén Guijarro, has demanded from the Ministry of Justice a toughening of the law on unimputable minors as a result of the case of the 11-year-old girl who was the victim of a gang rape at the Magic shopping center. For this he has requested the mediation of the first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa and the president of the Government himself, Pedro Sánchez.
“It is outrageous that they are free,” he said about the aggressors, also minors, in an interview on Rac1. The mayor assures that both the aggressors and the families continue to generate conflicts in the city and asks that these boys – of the five identified there are three unimputable and two over 14 years of age – are in centers and that administrations such as the DGAIA can act.
Regarding the departure of the victim’s family from Badalona, Guijarro admits that the situation generates “impotence” for him but that he understands the decision given the seriousness of the facts.
