The case that this newspaper uncovered on January 22, which referred to a recurring scam committed by butane distributors by increasing the legislated price of the cylinder, will reach the Congress of Deputies in the form of questions that Sumar’s group will ask, which belongs to En Comú Podem (ECP).

The Sumar parliamentary group cites the news of the scam that was detected in the Cerdanyola neighborhood of Mataró, in which a higher price was systematically charged for the bottle of butane than that set by the Government. This newspaper showed that it is a practice established in delivery people throughout the country and in some cases up to five euros per cylinder were scammed.

As cited by ECP, it has been demonstrated that Mataró is not an isolated case and that malpractice has become a common occurrence. For this reason, Sumar will ask if the Spanish Government has taken any action once the Repsol company itself announced an internal investigation.

On the other hand, the representatives of the purple formation will require the possible sanctions that should be applied to the retail marketing companies of Liquefied Petroleum Gases, the compensation that will be carried out on the defrauded families and the measures that will be established so that this doesn’t happen again.
