PP and PSOE stop the appearance of Begoña Gómez in the investigation commission created by the Balearic Parliament on the Koldo case. Vox had requested that the wife of the president of the Government be called, but the commission board has decided that she cannot be summoned since her activities are not related to the object of the investigation, which is the purchase of 1.4 millions of masks to the company Soluciones de Gestión, investigated by the National Court, during the government of Francina Armengol.

Vox had requested to require the presence of Begoña Gómez on the commission, but the Balearic socialists had previously presented a letter addressed to the table in which they warned that her inclusion could go against a ruling from the Constitutional Court that indicates that the commissions Research institutions can only study subjects that are the responsibility of the respective governments. The purchase of masks is the responsibility of the Balearic Government, but not the mediation efforts that Gómez could have made with other companies.

The work plan that was approved this Tuesday includes the appearances of the former Balearic president and current president of Congress, Francina Armengol; that of Koldo García, that of former minister José Luis Ábalos and that of several members of the previous Armengol team, with the presence of the entire leadership of the Health Service when the masks were acquired, in addition to other technicians and officials.

The presence of the businessmen investigated in the plot will also be required and the CEO of Air Europa, Javier Hidalgo, has been summoned, not because of his professional relationships with Begoña Gómez, but because it was one of the companies contracted to transport masks from China. The previous director of the Anti-Corruption Office, Jaime Far, an organization eliminated by the Government of Marga Prohens, will also appear, as well as the president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García Page.

The opposition in the Parliament had requested the presence of the current Balearic president, Marga Prohens, to explain the reasons for the expiration of the claim file for 2.6 million from the mask company. The Balearic Government demanded that the company return this money for the extra price paid, but the file has expired. In some of the recordings ordered by the National Court, it is confirmed how those responsible for the company talk about putting pressure on the current Government to force the expiration of the file.

Only two members of the current Government will appear: the vice president Antoni Costa and the director of the Health Service, Javier Ureña. The vice president, responsible for European funds, appears to explain that the Armengol Government requested that the masks be paid for with European funds even though by then it already knew that the material delivered was not what had been requested and paid for.
