Violence, death threats or bullying.
On a large number of schools is violence and verbal assault is a part of daily life for both students and staff.
The Extra Leaf in the day reveal, in the light of a comprehensive knowledge of the documents in the working conditions at schools across the country.
Specifically, that only the last year has been as violent episodes that the labour inspectorate has been called out to 31 schools spread across the country. In several cases, criticized the management for not having had the procedure in order to cope with physical and psychological violence.
In the many reports one can see how the teachers must live with everything from outright threats to the life to be beaten in the head with a stool or get taken stranglehold, when they try to fit their work.
Among the examples are: ‘I necks you’ and ‘I’m burning your fucking house down.’ Just as a teacher has been threatened with getting cut off fingers with a pair of scissors.
The scary examples are according to the Danish Teachers ‘ association, a picture on a boring trend, where violence and threats against the Danish primary school teachers have been steadily increasing over recent years.
– We have many inquiries about violence and threats are widely seen in all primary schools, says Thomas Andreasen, president of arbejdsmiljøudvalget in the Danish Teachers ‘ association, to Ekstra Bladet.
Latest figures from The National Research centre for the Working environment is 2018, and the shows that 21 percent of teachers have experienced threats, while 20 percent have experienced outright violence in the past 12 months.
It is the increase of respectively six and 12 percentage points since 2012.
Thomas Andreasen points out that it is an area in which one is looking with concern on the. Specifically, it sounds that the problems have increased, after you have increasingly included students with difficulties in mainstream schools:
– Many of the pupils, which previously had special offers to, is today part of the ordinary folkeskoleklasse, without the support and help it requires. For example, had, in the past, the two teachers switched in a class with children who have special need of help. Today, there is typically only one, he says.
at the same time, according to the trade union has been a reduction in the teaching staff in the past ten years where that has come 9000 fewer primary school teachers.
Thomas Andreasen identifies two areas that need to be improved, if development must be reversed. Firstly, it is about that the students who have difficulties, should have the right offer.
And so, it is about the lack of teachers in the classes who have it particularly hard. It is a big problem, he says.
