Pedro Sánchez went to Iraq on Wednesday afternoon, where last Thursday he met with its president, Abdul Latif Rashid, and with the prime minister, Mohammed Shia, al-Sudani, to express the support of the Spanish Government to the country’s stability and deepen political and commercial relations. In Iraq, Spain keeps deployed more than 360 soldiers, who participate in a NATO operation to advise the Iraqi authorities. Almost 200 of these soldiers also collaborate in the international coalition against the Islamic State. There Sánchez met with the soldiers and participated in a tribute to the dead, with a special memory of the seven CNI agents killed in this country in November 2003. Precisely, one of the people he greeted was the wife of commander Carlos Baró, killed in that attack, who currently works in Moncloa and traveled to Iraq. / Drafting
