Spanish political leaders will round off their intense presence in the election campaign next Sunday with a true marathon of events in the last two days before the day of reflection on Saturday. Both Pedro Sánchez and Alberto Núñez Feijóo will move their activity to Catalonia in the next few hours to participate in the finishing of the campaign of their respective teams.
Pedro Sánchez has focused his contribution to Salvador Illa’s campaign in Barcelona, ??the area and the metropolitan region. After the self-imposed five days of reflection had elapsed before deciding his continuity in the presidency of the Government, which led him to cancel two rallies in Sabadell and Santa Coloma de Gramenet, he appeared by surprise on May 1 at the April Fair of Catalonia before star in a rally the next day in Sant Boi de Llobregat. Last Saturday he accompanied Salvador Illa in Montmeló and today he will be at another campaign event in Vilanova i la Geltrú before closing his Catalan tour tomorrow at the central PSC rally in the Vall d’Hebron Olympic pavilion in Barcelona.
For the leader of the PP, these are also very Catalan days. Alberto Núñez Feijóo has chosen Barcelona, ??and specifically the modernist site of the Sant Pau hospital, to present today the first 35 candidates on his party’s list for the European elections, a candidacy led by a Catalan woman, the former Minister of Health Dolors Montserrat. In the afternoon, the leader of the opposition to the Government of Pedro Sánchez will make an appearance in some other place to be determined and will travel to Tarragona to intervene alongside Alejandro Fernández in the central event of the popular in this province.
On the last day of the campaign, Feijóo will be in Penedès in the morning, also alongside the European candidate, and will close the Catalan PP campaign in the afternoon, with the head of the list in these elections, in the final act, which will take place in the Bellvitge park, in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat.
In addition, various PP leaders will also be in Catalonia giving a final push to Fernández’s aspirations to achieve a good result. This is the case of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who after participating in a rally in Barcelona on Monday, will complete her tour of the four provincial capitals, visiting Girona this afternoon, Tarragona tomorrow at noon and, in the afternoon , Lleida.
Nor will the leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, miss the end of Jéssica Albiach’s campaign, whom she will accompany tomorrow at the final campaign rally of the commons in Cornellà de Llobregat.
