There is no doubt that the young, royal örn like to give it max throttle during the DR programme ‘the Island – a new beginning’.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to know in advance where the pressure really will be, when you live on a deserted island and not in any way get enough food and drink over a longer period of time.

We were all malnourished, and I was really struck by it. I was completely ruled out, and then I felt suddenly that I could not breathe and was very dizzy. It got worse and worse, and at the same time, I got anxiety over what would happen if I actually couldn’t get the weather, and what you just did, when you were away from civilization. So mind deteriorating secure the situation, and therefore escalated it completely, he tells.

– It was very uncomfortable, as I fell, and there was just a minute about how I was not present. When I came to myself again, sat all the others around me and gave me water and was super cute. They were really good to help. However, it got me to thinking about what might had happened, if I had been alone. So I was really glad that the other was there to help me so much. They were there 100 percent for me. And it gave me the courage again, ” continues Mathias.

despite the fact that Mathias was really pressured, it meant, however, that he was considering to withdraw from the program. He acknowledges, however, that he was afraid, whether he was able to continue, if he is not getting better.

– even Though it was so uncomfortable, I would not give up. I had set myself on, that they had to drag me away, if I should not complete. It is as if, to when you sit for that you just SHOULD cope with it, then puts stædigheden really in such a situation, says Mathias.

And that she could hear me, that I was quite myself again, and could well continue, so that was really fortunate. However, it was just two-three days before I was right at the top. I was, thankfully, not as bad trips afterwards, but I was also very caution to get enough water and just a little extra coconut to eat, explains Mathias, there is no doubt that he’s never tried anything so hard as to participate in the ‘Island – a new beginning’.

– It is without a doubt the toughest I have ever experienced. I can’t recall anything which in any way has pushed me so far out. Also because I was pushed mentally and physically and therefore felt completely powerless. Yet there is a survival instinct, there nevertheless continues, he explains.

Mathias notes also that it certainly came behind him, how challenging it was to participate in the program:

– I was definitely more pressure than I had expected. I had thought that it would be easier than it was. And that I would not be beaten so much out of malnutrition. I came out there as this young and fresh boy, who just had to give it gas, and then I ended up being so pressed and have no energy at all. It was when hard.

Prior to the tv-the participation hoped Mathias, that he would be more adult and mature after oplevelen. Fortunately, it seems that it succeeded.

– It is difficult to say when one becomes an adult, but I can feel that I have become more mature. I have been more conscious about what I want, and I stand more firmly by my decisions. I think me also more about the now. My friends say also, that they can feel that I have changed me after I came home. They think I have become more aware of what I want with my life, says Mathias.

– Before I thought that I would read the chiropractor, but now I have found out, that I would like to be a photographer, and I have bought a lot of equipment. I have also already been out to film a wedding. It was clearly an interest, I got under the ‘Island’participation, he explains, and adds:

– Both because it was cool to film the beautiful surroundings, but I chatted too much with the photographer down there. He taught me a lot and inspired me so much to tell about his experiences as a photographer. So now pursues I the dream. My buddy and I are trying to start something up together.
