Pedro Sánchez wants to give battle to the generals of July 23 and for this reason he will go to all the squares, also to those he has not set foot in the entire legislature, such as for example the set of Ana Rosa Quintana or in some radio talk shows in which he does not receive a friendly treatment, like that of Carlos Alsina, where he already went last week. “I have to be on all the programs to puncture this bubble of lies, manipulation and wickedness”, says the President of the Central Government in an interview with the Lo de Évole program broadcast last night on La Sexta. In it, he denounces that the political, media and economic right has coined the mantra of “repeal Sanchism” and with this has “obscured” the governmental and legislative action of the coalition Executive.

“I have misjudged the corrosive power of many arguments that have been spreading in some media”, affirms Sánchez.

The former president of the government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, has taken the lead in some cases in recent weeks and has even raised the tone when he has deemed it appropriate. Sánchez, on the other hand, points out that until now he had “taken care many times not to fall into the temptation and provocations” that have been “constantly uttered” against him both in the political and media spheres.

The head of the Executive insists that he has tried to have a political debate. “Talking about what we do and not who we do it with”, he says in allusion to the constant references he manages with EH Bildu.

“When it is said that I have governed with Bildu, it is not true. I am separated from Bildu by an abysmal distance, and this means that in Euskadi we understand each other strategically with the PNB”, points out Sánchez, who distinguishes government action from the majorities in Congress. “To govern is to have ministers from this party”, he justifies.

Likewise, he considers that the “most important mistake” of his Administration is “having committed a technical error in the law, which has allowed some offenders to have their sentences reduced”.

The alliance of PP and Vox, on the one hand, or the understanding of the Socialists and Sumar on the other. Sánchez trusts that the participation in the general elections will be high and that there will be more mobilization than in the municipal and regional elections. In addition, he assures that he does not see himself out of politics after the elections.

Regarding his main opponent, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the PP, Sánchez emphasizes that “it has been a huge disappointment for many people”. “I thought I was facing someone moderate who wanted to reach agreements and in the end he took refuge in the same thing as always, Sanchismo, like Pablo Casado and Isabel Díaz Ayuso”, adds the president.

The head of the Executive also talks about the Catalan folder, who admits that his political position has changed and defends pardons. “I did it for a greater purpose and for a better cause, which is coexistence”, he defends. “Today, if the problem in Catalonia is not solved, at least Catalonia can breathe”, he concludes.
