And had prince Andrew even sex with a young woman (Virginia Roberts) from the circle of Jeffrey Epstein? A wide range of questions about the prince’s contact with the now deceased financier was asked in an interview on the BBC on Saturday.
Read a sample of the questions and answers from the interview here:
Question: You spent the night at the home of a convicted sex offender?
– It was a convenient place to stay for the night. I’ve reviewed this in my head so many times. After all – with the benefit of hindsight – it was certainly wrong to do.
– But at the time I felt that it was the most honest and right thing to do, and I admit fully, that my judgement was probably colored by my tendency to be too honest, but it’s probably just the way it is.
Question: if you withdraw your entire friendship with Epstein?
– Still not, and the reason for that is that the people I met and the opportunities I was given – either by him or because of him – was very useful.
– He was not even as close to me as you might think, we were not so close. So therefore, yes, I would stay in his home, but it was because of his gf, not because of him.
Question: One of the women who have accused Epstein – Virginia Roberts – has made allegations against you also. She says she met you in 2001 (…) She had sex with you (…) Your answer?
– I have no recollection of ever having met this woman, not at all.
Question: She has been very specific about the evening. She has described that she danced with you. And that you was sweating profusely (…)?
– There is a small problem with sweating, because I have a bizarre medical disorder which consists in the fact that I am not perspiring at the time (…) because I had what I would describe as an overdose of adrenaline in the falklands war, when I was fired. It was almost impossible for me to sweat.
Question: Is there any possibility that you may have had sex with this young woman or any young woman – acted by Jeffrey Epstein – in any of his homes?
– If you are a man, it is a positive action to have sex with someone. You have to take action in a positive way, and if you try to displace it, it is very difficult to forget a positive action, and I remember nothing.
