It happens both here and in the countries around us: there is no celebrity couple that gets rid of waves of periodic rumors about supposed couple crises. It’s fodder for the press: gossip becomes a thriving garden of questions for the protagonists, who often don’t know what they’re talking about when the microphone is put in their face. Pilar Rubio (Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid, 1978) is used to struggling with this. The presenter speaks for La Vanguardia on the occasion of the launch of her fifth swimwear collection for Selmark, a prestigious Galician firm with which she already lives in symbiosis. Pilar is involved in the design and fabrics: “I also look at the needs that women have every year and try to innovate with one premise: top quality, versatility and comfort, it’s swimwear you can go to a chill out with”. She herself is the image of the campaign, at the age of 46 and with four children: “I stay well because of the happiness I feel right now and because I train four times a week and eat a balanced diet. Constancy is the mother of everything.”

We see Pilar in El hormiguero, El desafío, Make Up Stars, Discovery Canary Islands and in June she will embark on a new project that she will record throughout the summer. Rest is at odds with his way of life. “If I can do this, it’s because I get involved in things I like, I do programs I’m passionate about, in which I have a good time, I learn a lot and I’m happy. It gives me energy. If you took away my job, you would take away my life because I freak out.”

Pilar and Sergio Ramos got married in 2019: although according to tradition the wedding is usually celebrated in the land of the bride, the footballer is so attached to Seville that there was little doubt about which place would be chosen . The Cathedral of Seville hosted a ceremony for 500 guests and the invitation was held at L a Alegría, Ramos’ 44-hectare estate that also includes the guassada he has, winner of numerous awards at the annual Saló Internacional de Cavall, which is celebrated in the Andalusian capital. They started dating in the summer of 2012 and at the Ballon d’Or gala the following January they made it official. Their first son, Sergio jr., was born in May 2014, followed by Marco, Alejandro and Máximo Adriano. The presenter and model does not completely rule out that poker could grow and not because they are looking for a girl, she explains to this newspaper: “At the rate we are going it is difficult to think of a fifth, but I have a lot of experience with children, I know how they work and I think it would be easier. Now, a girl would be like starting from scratch (laughs). Yep, I love watching them when they come home and see how they make my children go, it makes me very happy”.

And this house is a deeply stable home. The family moved from Paris to Seville when he finished his time at PSG and signed for the Sevillian club and once again they faced rumors of a crisis. The formula for not getting bored reading headlines and gossip of this nature is easy: “It’s just that I don’t read them. Actually, right now I’m on two books, or I was, because I just finished one, so the moments I have free, when I don’t have to read scripts or study English, for example, I start reading the books which I like, which I think is time better spent”.

The most recent occasion in which she concluded the umpteenth wave of enraonies was without intending to when she congratulated her husband on his birthday on social networks. However, it’s not bad to be the subject of the paper cuishé. “I am aware that we are public figures and everyone has the right to an opinion. Even to invent or say what they want. The important thing is what you live in your life. I think it’s part of being a public figure. Nothing is wrong, really. The important thing is to live your reality knowing that time is limited in this life and we cannot waste it on nonsense. It would be absurd to give someone the power to take time out of your life. I decide my time, I choose who I give it to or what I use it with.”

The future of the family is once again a mystery. Ramos ends his contract with the Sevilla club on June 30, and although president Del Nido Carrasco has stated that he is more than satisfied with his performance, the sports press notes that there are contacts with the American league. La Pilar is an insurmountable wall: USA, Japan, the Middle East… She does not get wet by choosing a destination as her favorite and challenges the journalist with a tempting bet. “Come on, tell me where we’re going, I have no idea.” Either she’s faking it really well or she really doesn’t know yet where her four children will enroll in September.
