Third baseman Todd Frazier was out of the starting lineup for the White Sox Cactus League opener against the Dodgers on Saturday at Camelback Ranch as he continues to cover from a left oblique strain.
Matt Davidson, who is expected to vie for a spot as a backup third baseman and designated hitter, starts in his place, batting cleanup.
Center-field prospect Charlie Tilson also was out as he recovers from a stress reaction in his right foot. Tilson said he’s “moving in the right direction.” He is continuing to rehab his surgically repaired left hamstring, jogging on an aqua treadmill and expects to start swinging again soon.
