King Juan Carlos returns to Spain at the weekend to attend the wedding of the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, to Teresa Urquijo Moreno on Saturday. At the celebration, the father of the King will coincide with the main party of the Popular Party, also invited to the link.

The leaders of the PP, even if only in opposition to the Government of Pedro Sánchez, have always been opposed to the situation of self-exile of King Juan Carlos. Alberto Núñez Feijóo has expressed this several times, especially after all the court cases pending against King Juan Carlos due to alleged tax irregularities were closed.

The religious ceremony will be held on Saturday morning at the San Francisco de Borja church in Madrid and the banquet will be at the El Canto de la Cruz estate, in Colmenar Viejo (Madrid), owned by the bride’s maternal grandparents, Íñigo Moreno de Arteaga and Teresa de Borbó-Dues Sicílies, first cousin of King John Charles.

José Luis Martínez-Almeida, 48, and Teresa Urquijo Moreno, 27, have invited prominent members of the Popular Party to the wedding, as well as important businessmen and personalities from Madrid’s social life. There will also be members of the Borbó family, from kings Joan Carlos and Sofia to the infants Elena and Cristina, as well as the children of the infanta Pilar and the infanta Margarida, who are related to the bride. Kings Felipe and Letícia are also invited, but it has not been confirmed that they will be there.

King Juan Carlos, who is in Abu Dhabi, where he spent Easter in the company of the Infanta Elena, will travel to Geneva on Friday and then go to Madrid on the same Saturday. It remains to be seen where Reidurant’s father will sleep during his stay in Madrid, as it seems unlikely that he will stay at the Zarzuela palace, considering that he himself renounced by letter the possibility of using his own outbuildings during his visits to Spain public

Coincidentally, King Juan Carlos also plans to go to Madrid on April 8 for the funeral in memory of his nephew Fernando Gómez-Acebo, the youngest son of Infanta Pilar, who died a few weeks ago.

Father the King went from March 13 to 17 and plans to return on April 16 and 17. The last time he went to Madrid was on December 20 to attend the 60th birthday of Infanta Elena.
