Cabernet sauvignon is the most planted grape in the world and is popular in many wine countries around the world. The grape ripens late and requires some heating, but otherwise can be grown in virtually all regions, which it also does. It is cultivated in many different environments and are therefore good to illustrate the local klimas effect on the wine’s style. Bordeaux is approximately the northernmost, where it can ripen.
Cabernet sauvignon is rich in tannin and color. This means that the wines on the cabernet sauvignon requires a longer period of storage, before they should be drunk than f.ex. wines of merlot. It also means that they are often quite well-suited to store. Good cabernet sauvignon wines can easily be saved to 20 years. The most typical characteristic is the blackcurrant. Solbærrene can be overwhelming, especially in cheap wines from overseas countries, while the flavor becomes more subdued with age. The great wines from both California and Burgundy develops with age elegant wine with velvety tannins and notes of cedar and tobacco.
An exciting tasting where bundniveauet was high, and where each of the top wines showed its full potential. But also a tasting, which showed that, in general, value for money in the three countries, and where for a little over 100 dollars can get a very nice and honest wine with lots of concentration and intensity. Conversely, a lack of the best wines still the last depth, you will find in the largest Napa and Bordeaux wines.
We tasted in this test 45 cabernet sauvignon wines from Chile, Argentina and south Africa.

Nice complexity in the nose with ripe fruit, a little beautiful developed notes and chocolate. The dish comes again in the taste to appear beautifully integrated and the fruit in beautiful balance. Tannins to bite, acid to provide freshness and as a fruit that stands in beautiful balance. The sun and the moon must be right. Nice length, which underlines the wine’s life, and complexity. Beautiful.

Restrained with a great fullness and warm, ripe fruit. Compact and dense fruit, enshrined in the tannin and acid. Opens up in the taste and comes creeping with the good charm, but not as heavy and warm as the others in the round. Nice balanced finish.
