The Danish speedwaystjerne Leon Madsen delivered a perfect end of the season in the WORLD championship series on Saturday night.

– I was hoping that I could win a silver medal. I knew well that Bartosz should have a bad night, if I was to be world champion, so it thought I, not so much.

– I was thinking more of running after the silver, which I could do something about, says Leon Madsen.

He must be operated in the ankle, and so awaits he for the back can be treated without surgery, or whether he is forced under the knife again.

– In day (Saturday, red.) and in Cardiff I was able to run without the injections in my ankle and with less pain, and it was clear to see that I could run more freely and provide better.

– It has been a tough season to run with the big pain, but I have fought and bitten the teeth together and tried my best, says Leon Madsen.
