A halo of mystery surrounded Georgina Rodríguez when she began her relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo. She was the Gucci clerk who had fallen in love with the then Real Madrid player and with whom she created a family made up of Cristiano’s children before consolidating the relationship, Cristiano jr., Eva and Mateo, and the first biological daughter of both, Alana. Doubts about the family, however, dissipated in January 2022 when the Spanish-Argentine moved to the forefront of media attention with Soy Georgina, the Netflix reality show produced by herself and in which could make it known beyond Instagram posts. After a first season in which she sold herself as a woman devoted to her loved ones, a reference of fashion and solidarity, the new episodes, which arrive today, are marked by the tragedy of losing her son Ángel in April last year. He talks about it with an honesty and vulnerability unthinkable in his early days.

Georgina was with her friend and right hand, Elena Pina, when she took the pregnancy test. Afterwards, a doctor with a Brazilian accent confirmed to her that she was expecting two babies. “I was shaking like crazy,” admits Georgina. When he broke the news to Cristiano, he jumped for joy and advised him to rest, that the move to England was over. However, on the day of the birth, things went wrong.

“Bella was born strong and healthy, but a piece of my heart was blown away”, explains Georgina in front of the cameras about the death of Ángel, one of the twins. He reveals that he couldn’t find the strength to communicate the situation to his children: “Since I had a tummy, I told them that Ángel was in mom’s tummy, that only Bella had come and that she had decided not to be born yet, that would be born a little later”. But it was Cristiano who said in the hospital that “the Angel is in heaven” and then Georgina took “a dose of reality” while her sister, in the family home, was dismantling one of the cots. “It wasn’t that we wanted to forget this moment, but we wanted to normalize the situation and make it as easy as possible for him to return to reality”, shares Ivana Rodríguez. In the following weeks, Georgina did not want to “accept the loss, the consolation of people”. “I have the facility to think about the positive, about what I have, but it’s as if I haven’t accepted it yet”, confesses Georgina between tears.

“How excited I was to sit next to Nathy! When I found out she was in the show, I was praying that I could play next to her”, she says after meeting the Argentine singer at the Jacquemus show in Arle. A curiosity? There was also Victoria Beckham, who for Gio is synonymous with “strength” and “fashion icon”, although they did not record a single sequence together. Should she also be their role model considering the parallels between the two as wives of footballers, mothers of large families and references in the world of fashion?

And, among Georgina’s fans, there is Rosalía, who confesses to being a follower of the reality show: “I love it”. Motomami and Rauw Alejandro received the model and businesswoman, who had attended the concert at the WiZink Center, in their dressing room. The one from Sant Esteve Sesrovires not only gave away merchandise from the tour to Georgina’s children, but sang La fama en petit comité for them. Because, even in a season marked by tragedy, Soy Georgina is VIP anecdotes, celebrities and luxury.
