Atresplayer, Atresmedia’s online content platform, is reformulated. As of July 5, it will lose the Premium surname and undertake “a revolution”, in the words of its managers, with a more modern design, new interface, more linear channels and a battery of Spanish production novelties. In addition, it adds to its subscription offer the Family Premium package, which will allow three users to use the platform at the same time at a cost of €7.99/month or €79.99/year, compared to €4.99 €/month or €49.99/year for the Premium base plan.
Atresmedia will strengthen both the free modality, with the addition of ten new thematic channels, and the paid modality, with new fictions that repeat the successes of series such as Veneno and which have positioned it as the leading Spanish platform having exceeded half a million subscribers In the coming months, almost thirty new projects will be launched and premiered, ten of which were announced yesterday at an event at the Callao cinema in Madrid.
A prominent signing of the platform is Carles Porta, who is now embarking on a fictional series, 33 días, inspired by the case of Brito and Picatoste, the first to open his TV3 docuseries Crims. The series will narrate the film escape of these two criminals from the penitentiary center of Lleida in 2021 and which lasted for the 33 days referred to in the title of the series.
After the success of La novia gitana, Atresplayer will soon release La red púrpura, and is already preparing La nena, the third installment of the saga based on Carmen Mola’s novels with inspector Elena Blanco (Nerea Barros). The route will also feature a new season, now set in the Ibiza of the nineties and with connections to the seventies.
In its second part, Vestidas de azul -which has already finished filming-, it will be joined by Piraña, in which through the figure of Paca, LGTBIQ history will be retraced, as a tribute to the elderly of the collective . The Javis will also be at the forefront as producers of Mariliendre, a musical series starring a gay queen of the night who at 35 lives dethroned and tormented.
And as it could not be otherwise, Atresplayer will have a new nostalgic turn in the key of the future. After the special El reencuentro, the spirit of Physics or chemistry will return with FoQ: la nueva generación, in which, after the fire that destroyed the old institute, the Nuevo Zurbarán will reopen its doors.
Among the performers who will participate in Atresplayer’s new fictions is Yolanda Ramos, with Un nuevo amanecer, a series created and co-directed by José Corbacho in which an artist must enter a detoxification center to treat her addictions to alcohol and drugs; Verónica Echegi and Joan Amargós at the head of A muerte, a new fiction created and directed by Dani de la Orden, and Natalia Verbeke and Ginés García-Millán as the visible faces of the police procedural Una vida menos en Canarias.
Atresplayer will also continue to bet on literary adaptations with La sombra de la Tierra, the novel by Elvira Mínguez, which the same author will direct, and ¿A qué estás esperando? , based on the novels by Megan Maxwell.
