Trump did not want to do anything about the rioters who attacked the Capitol Jan. 6, 2021. Cassidy Hutchinson was a former White House aide and testified before Tuesday’s House committee. She recalled conversations between Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and White House Counsel Pat Cipollone.

Hutchinson stated that Cipollone entered the West Wing “barreling down” the hallway and then told Meadows, “The rioters are in the Capitol Mark. We must now see the President.

Meadows replied, “He doesn’t want to do any,” Hutchinson said.

Cipollone told Meadows that “Something must be done or somebody is going be killed and this will be on your effing hands,” Hutchinson testified.

Trump had already sent a tweet discrediting Vice President Mike Pence. He was trying to stop certification of the 2020 election. Rioters were shouting “Hang Mike Pence!”

According to Hutchinson, Cipollone stated that they were calling for the VP “effing hung”.

Hutchinson replied, Meadows said, “You heard him Pat.” “He believes Mike deserves it.”

Cipollone replied, “Effing insane,” she recalled.

This recounting shows that Trump and his White House were closely watching the Capitol’s activities, even though they tried to stop Trump from doing so.
