The Swedish activist Greta Thunberg is in record time become world-renowned for its persistent struggle for the climate.
Especially after the 16-year-old teen in hard terms the attacks world leaders for not doing enough for climate action in his speech at the UN climate summit in New York 23. september.
Since then has Greta Thunberg divided both experts and ordinary people. Some believe that her tough rhetoric is exactly what is needed, if climate is to be saved, while the other protests that the 16-year-old, who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, goes too far.
The disputed Danish klimadebattør Bjorn Lomborg belongs to the last group. In a column in the German Bild langer, he looked after the Swedish klimaaktivist.

The 54-year-old klimadebattør is especially annoyed by Greta Thungbergs rhetoric, which he believes paints an accurate picture of the climate change challenge.
‘Yes, global warming is real and man-made. Gretas statement that climate change is the end of the world, however, is unfounded,’ initiates the dane his column in the German media.
Bjorn Lomborg criticises subsequently, the 16-year-old skoleelevs claim that humanity is evil, if it does not respond to science by putting our CO2 emissions drastically down immediately.
‘of CO2 emissions has taken people out of poverty. We do not emit the CO2 of evil. Rather, it is a by-product of giving humanity access to an unprecedented level of energy. We no longer need to collect wood for the fire for hours, our houses are no longer filled with smoke. We have heating, cooling, transport, light, food, and many options as well as a doubling of our life expectancy. None of this is bad.’

Fewer people are dying because of the climate
The Danish klimadebattør points out, subsequently, that the world’s emissions, mainly fossil fuels have lifted more than a billion people out of poverty. Not to do so would be evil, believe Lomborg.
‘Greta Thunberg believes that climate change leads to loss of life. However, it is a fact that weather-related disasters 100 years ago, killed half a million people each year. In spite of rising temperatures, are killed today, only 20,000 people a year by drought, floods, hurricanes, and extreme temperatures – a drop of 95 percent. And a morally laudable achievement.’
in conclusion, stresses the contentious klimadebattør that Thunbergs requirement to completely stop all use of fossil fuels in 2028 is directly idiotic.
It will lead to a real global disaster, he states.
