Compromís per València has denounced that the City Council authorized the tenant company of the Bullring, Nautalia Viajes SL, to hold a ‘bous embolats’ event during the Fallas but held it one day before the scheduled date and without the “authorization.” relevant”.
As revealed this Wednesday by the coalition, the resolution of the competent area indicates that the authorization of the event “Suelta de vacas, bou de corro y toros embolados” was conditioned on its development between 10 p.m. on March 17 and 3:30 p.m. day 18.
“Specifically 24 hours after the activity was carried out without the relevant authorization on the night of Saturday the 16th, as announced,” Compromis per València states in a statement.
He adds that on the 14th, the City Council issued its authorization for the night of the 17th, “and more than 48 hours later, on the night of the 16th, the spectacle of animal torture and public danger was held in the bullring.”
According to Compromís, it was done “without anyone, neither the organization nor the City Council itself, nor the insurance companies, nor the medical services, nor any of the actors involved in such a dangerous event, realizing that they were doing it without counting effectively with a valid authorization, or at least that’s what they now want us to believe.”
The co-spokesperson of Compromís and former councilor for Animal Welfare, Gloria Tello, affirms that with this “degree of irresponsibility”, the government of María José Catalá “jeopardized the integrity of people and underlined its support for bullfighting torture to mark its own profile.” ”.
He explains that the event “took place, as was insistently announced and can still be seen on social networks, on the night of Saturday, March 16” and indicates that a summary of the acts of “animal abuse” can be seen on the Facebook page by Toropasión Espectáculos.
“Curiously, the company uploaded the video of the activity to the social network a couple of hours before even having permission to carry it out,” explains Tello.
“The PP launched its bravado and wanted to authorize this absurdity, but for whatever reason it did not do it correctly,” denounced the councilor of Compromís, who adds: “Fortunately, despite the torture suffered by the animals, there was no regret. personal misfortunes.”
Finally, he asks himself “what would have happened if they had happened? Who would assume the responsibilities?”, and he advances that this Wednesday they will ask about this matter in the municipal plenary session.
